These pages are taken from the Australian Racing Pigeon Gazette November 1955 and are an article written by Vic Ryder Coonabarabran NSW on his experiences with the well known Ollerenshaw Grizzles that were, and probably still are popular in the old Australian blood lines. Unfortunately I do not have other copies of the gazette to finish this interesting story…..
The author claims that he bred Grizzles from Dark & Blue Cheques but he is mistaken if he means that a pair of Dark or Blue Cheques bred grizzles. Maybe he means Dark & Blue Cheque grizzles, because Grizzles can be bred in any colour and any wing pattern.
